We are looking for experienced Sign Installers to work within our growing business mainly in the Scotland area of the UK.

The right candidate will be a self-starter who is motivated, confident and professional.

A successful candidate is able to handle pressure, meet deadlines and take direction while working independently.

They will possess a valid driver’s license and ideally a CSCS card as a minimum, IPAF and PASMA cards would be a distinct advantage, though for the right candidate, this training will be provided. This role will also involve travel throughout the UK and Europe as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

Day-­to-­day

  • Establish tasks set on a daily basis and meeting deadlines
  • Attend briefing meetings as and when required
  • Install signage/ graphics to the correct specification and quality following Artwork and specific job brief
  • Ensure sites are left in a presentable manner with the clients satisfied in the cleanliness of our works
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
  • Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures and wearing appropriate PPE equipment

Health and Safety

  • Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
  • Ensure all RAMs/ TBT are signed and returned to the Installation Manager
  • Following H&S Guidelines to ensure works are complete in compliance with on site regulations

Other Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the assembly team as required to support short deadlines
  • Feedback any client concerns to the Head Installations Engineer, should they not be aware.
  • Carry out tasks set out to you by the Head Installations Engineer and the Astra Management Team.

Essential Skills, Experience and/or Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role within the signage industry
  • The ability to work in environments exposed to odour, noise, dust, heat, cold, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • Able to prioritise and multitask in order to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Install a variety of sign types and vinyl graphics in accordance with the drawings and brief provided.
  • Communicate effectively with various personnel, including clients, colleagues, project managers, directors, other contractors etc.
  • Ensure work is completed to the highest quality, raising any concerns with the relevant person (i.e. production manager, project manager, installation manager etc.)
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out safely, in line with training, industry standards and our Health & Safety Policies
  • Maintain the company vehicle allocated to you and report any damage or defects to your line manager.
  • Maintain the tools and equipment provided to you and report any damage or defects to your line manager.
  • Working within an installation team as required to deliver specific solutions.
  • Ensure prior to the start of work that as a team, it is understood what needs to be done.
  • Ensure legible End-of-Shift reports are sent to the Operations team at the end of shift detailing what was achieved, what is still to be achieved etc. (Including pictures)
  • Ensure that job briefs and packs are sent back completed to ensure ability to close jobs.
  • Ensure that H&S guidelines are followed on-site at all times.
  • Manage your own time on site.
  • Ensure that timesheets are submitted on a weekly basis and as otherwise requested.
  • Manage and maintain own allocated PPE, tools and be responsible for own well-being and Health and Safety
  • On-site Relationships
  • Managing all aspects of working on site
  • Inc Work Permits, Security Passes and confirming on-site requirements.
  • working with internal and external Project Managers and the installation team to carry out the installation of clients specified solutions including LCD displays, Videowall displays, LED displays, associated frameworks and running equipment.
  • Also work for the maintenance /service team

Health and Safety

  • Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment.

Other Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the request and allocation of stock/equipment for jobs to start to schedule
  • Assist Installation Manager with survey and job costing where required
  • Working with Installation Manager in the writing of RAMS for works where required
  • Lead jobs when assigned, and lead by example
  • Responsible for the internal and external cleanliness and state of assigned company vehicle
  • Responsible for reporting faults with company vehicles or access equipment to the Management team
  • On-site Maintenance
  • Complete maintenance of managed inventory as defined within maintenance manuals
  • If an issue that cannot be solved within a person’s knowledge base, then refer to a relevant specialist. (There is no situation where a fault should just be left without being fixed or referred on)
