Manchester Central – 15 Years of Event Signage

Astra Signs is delighted to be celebrating 15 years of partnership with one of Manchester’s most prominent venues. Manchester Central, is a proud landmark of the city and is famed for hosting global, national and local events in grand style. As well as a complete overhaul of all branding and wayfinding signage following the venue’s title change in 2007 – for which we teamed up with design agency Hemisphere – we’ve provided sign services for a wide range of exhibitions and events.These have included the Labour Party Conference and Conservative Party Conference; as well as gatherings of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the British Insurance Brokers Association and the British Dental Association.

Built between 1875 and 1880, Manchester Central was Manchester’s primary railway station and became a Grade II listed building in 1963. It closed in 1969, before an extensive renovation and relaunch as an event venue in the early 1980s. Planning an event?
