Light & Wonder, Inc., a global player in the gaming industry, the company is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, and with other offices worldwide from Spain to China. Light & Wonder sought to infuse their Manchester office with the vibrancy and colour that defines their gaming products. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the brand’s essence into a limited office space, including a showroom that simulated a casino environment.
Given Light & Wonder’s dynamic and colorful product range, the goal was to create an inviting office space that echoed their brand values. The Manchester office, situated in the XYZ Building, faced limitations on customisation options. The brief also included incorporating motivational messages, brand values, and visual elements from the company’s guidelines throughout the office space.
Astra Group’s solution involved strategically placing large-scale printed wall graphics throughout the office. This included glass windows and doors, presenting an opportunity to infuse the space with the brand’s identity.
Frosted vinyl was applied to glass office windows and doors, not only adding a visually appealing graphic but also serving the functional purpose of ensuring privacy. This was particularly crucial due to the flashing lights emitting from the gambling cabinets, minimising disruptions within the confined office space.
To enhance the casino ambiance in the showroom, Astra Group suggested using coloured vinyl on ceiling light panels. This innovation emitted a blue-tinted hue, setting the desired mood.
Within the showroom, a built-in cupboard was transformed into a feature wall using vinyl graphics, effectively erasing the typical feel of an office space.
Frosted patterned cut vinyl was employed on other glass office spaces, providing a cohesive and immersive branding experience throughout the premises.
In crafting Light & Wonder’s transformed office space, a meticulous selection of high-quality materials played a pivotal role.
The character prints on the showroom cabinets was realised through the application of digitally printed RoughMark GF285 vinyl, intricately applied on-site and precisely trimmed for a polished finish.
MetaMark products were integral to extending the longevity of the entire office transformation, ensuring durability and lasting visual impact. Showcasing attention to detail, MetaMark products, particularly MD3-205 clear vinyl, underwent a reverse digital print process. Printed sections were backed in white ink, printed again, and meticulously laminated with MG702 matt laminate externally.
Additionally, MT-654 mid-blue vinyl, a premium-grade polymeric calendered translucent sign-making material, was plot-cut and expertly applied to light fixtures, contributing to the overall immersive experience.
In the heart of Manchester, Light & Wonder’s office has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from a standard office space to a vibrant, on-brand environment. Astra Group’s strategic use of vinyl graphics not only adhered to design constraints but also addressed functional considerations, creating a cohesive and visually stunning environment.
Light & Wonder’s Manchester office now stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design and high-quality vinyl graphics in transforming a workspace into a true reflection of a brand’s identity.
